Tell Your Provincial Representative to Protect Health Care

Dear Provincial Representative,

I am writing to you as my Member of the Legislative Assembly because access to life-saving medication and front-line health care is important to me, my family, and my community.

Health bureaucrats in your government have begun backroom negotiations with powerful drug companies on drug prices that could see a multi-million dollar hit to frontline healthcare in my province. Pharmacies have been locked out of these negotiations by drug companies and government bureaucrats.

Not only could these changes impact the affordability of front line health care services in my community, but could also mean a negative impact on the services pharmacies deliver, reduced inventory or delayed availability of the medication my family and I rely on.

There is still a chance for you to protect access to these important frontline services.

Will you help our community pharmacies secure a seat at the table on generic drug price negotiations so that my family and I can continue to have access to the quality healthcare that we deserve?

Signed,

Backroom decisions are being made about your health without the input of healthcare providers.

Locked out by powerful drug companies and bureaucrats, discussions are ongoing to put profits before people.

Tell your representative, pharmacists need a spot at the table to protect your interests. Your healthcare depends on it.

Did you know...

…your provincial government is now negotiating with drug companies to change the rules about prescription drugs? These changes could make it harder for you to get the medication you need, when you need it. These changes could make it harder for your local pharmacy to deliver the fast, efficient and reliable service you deserve, and could see service disruptions at your community pharmacy. This is bad news for you, especially if there is another public health crisis.

Even though pharmacies are responsible for providing you with life-saving medications and services, they are being excluded from these negotiations! We need the provincial government to protect your local pharmacy and the thousands of people in your community who count on these front-line healthcare services.

Now is the time to invest in front-line healthcare, not make cuts. Let’s work together to protect pharmacies – your health looks different without them!
